The researchers of the Inorganic Chemistry Department and Alicante University Materials Institute Prof. Antonio Sepúlveda Escribano and Dr. Enrique V. Bouquets-Fernández are co-authors of a recently published article in the prestigious journal Chemical Society Reviews ("Metal-organic and covalent organic frameworks as single-site catalysts Chem. Soc. Rev., (2017), 46, 3134-3184 DOI: 10.1039/C7CS00033B). Besides, the work has been selected as one of the covers of the journal.
The article is a collaboration between the University of Alicante and several international institutions of high prestige: TUDelft (Netherlands), University of Gent (Belgium), CNRS-LCS (France) and CSIC-ITQ (Spain).
In the article the last advances in the design of catalysts with an single type of active centres is reviewed. These catalysts are based on two new types of materials, MOF (Metal Organic Frameworks) and COF (Covalent Organic Frameworks). This article is included in a special issue of the journal entitled "Metal-organic frameworks and porous polymers - current and future challenges", where the momost prestigious experts in last generation MOF, COF and porous solids review the last works published and expose their insight with regard to the future development of these materials and their applications.
The projects PLE2009-0021 and PRI-PIBJP-2011-0766 led by Prof. Diego Cazorla
of the Alicante University Materials Institute have been selected to be presented before
the King of Spain in his official visit to Japan.
The presentation has taken place on April 5th 2017 in the National Museum of Sciences and Innovation.
This project took place in the framework of the bilateral scientific and technological projects that
both nations have still undergoing and inside the area of Nanotechnology. The two projects have been realised In cooperation with the University of Málaga in Spain and with the University of Tohoku in Japan.
